Guess we don't need eggs this week."

Honestly, it feels like we keep moving from crisis after crisis into 'new normal' after 'new normal'. I think it probably was never that normal to begin with, but that it's been getting increasingly hard to ignore how un-normal it all is.
As a somewhat related sidebar, I remember when they introduced the Euro when I was a kid. I liked using the exchange rates with the old currency to calculate what the new prices in my local supermarket were, and was very surprised to find that they had ALL increased. Boy, were things still cheap, though, compared to now.
I went shopping today for a tin of baked beans (UK thing) since the dawn of time it has been around 30p for a tin of beans. Today - 75p - were these beans baked by the hands of a higher power?
Now who knew I'd read an article from end to end surrounding ketchup prices and inflation. Certainly not me. But so entertaining, had a little chuckle too, so I kept going.
